HELSINKI, Finland: The Planmeca Solanna Vision operating light with integrated 4K cameras has been awarded a Red Dot in this year’s Red Dot Award: Product Design competition.
The Planmeca Solanna Vision dental operating light with integrated 4K cameras and microphones impressed the jury of the renowned Red Dot design competition, which this year received more than 6,500 product entries from manufacturers all over the world.
For brighter workdays
The operating light can be used for taking still images of the patient’s teeth or for recording dental procedures, among other things. The light opens up completely new possibilities for patient communication, consultation, documentation and dental education. Built on an evolving platform, Planmeca Solanna Vision will allow dental professionals to enjoy groundbreaking new features through software upgrades in the future as well.
“The operating light is an important working tool for the dentist, since a great part of dental work is based on visual perception,” explained Planmeca’s senior industrial designer, Timo Silvonen. “Taking photos of the patient’s teeth is also an everyday task at a dental clinic. We decided to combine the patient light and camera into one product, which makes the clinical workflow much smoother. Receiving the Red Dot is a great recognition and really confirms that our focus on innovative design that improves the everyday life of dental professionals is the right approach.”
